Situ\u00e9e \u00e0 la rue Basse \u00e0 Wih\u00e9ries, la chapelle Saint-Eloi est construite en 1853. Elle est d\u00e9di\u00e9e au saint patron du village \u00e0 savoir Saint Eloi. Dans ce contexte, une plaque a \u00e9t\u00e9 appos\u00e9e au-dessus de la porte d\u2019entr\u00e9e afin de rappeler le but de cette chapelle. Ainsi, l\u2019inscription suivante est grav\u00e9e\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0[\u2026] A la gloire de Dieu et \u00e0 l\u2019honneur de Saint-Eloi protecteur de Wih\u00e9ries 1853\u00a0[\u2026] \u00bb.[1]<\/a><\/p>
Par ailleurs, il est int\u00e9ressant d\u2019indiquer que la chapelle fut compl\u00e8tement d\u00e9truite \u00e0 la suite d\u2019un accident de bus, le 12 d\u00e9cembre 2002. Toutefois, en 2013, l\u2019administration communale de Dour d\u00e9cida de la reconstruire \u00e0 l\u2019identique.<\/p>
