Historique : <\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>
Ce m\u00e9morial[1]<\/a>, cr\u00e9\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019initiative de la section de Dour de la Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration des Prisonniers Politiques et Ayants-droit a \u00e9t\u00e9 inaugur\u00e9 le 5 octobre 1980. Il \u00e9tait destin\u00e9, d\u2019une part, \u00e0 rendre hommage aux prisonniers politiques de l\u2019Entit\u00e9 de Dour ayant disparu pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, et d\u2019autre part, \u00e0 rappeler les horreurs de ce conflit mondial pour que plus jamais cela ne se reproduise. Ce m\u00e9morial, sur lequel sont grav\u00e9s les mots \u00ab\u00a0souviens-toi\u00a0\u00bb, a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par Leine de Saint-Ghislain, ancien prisonnier politique lui-m\u00eame, et \u00e9rig\u00e9 sur un des murs du cimeti\u00e8re communal de Dour. Ainsi, celui-ci est constitu\u00e9 en trois parties\u00a0: le mur compos\u00e9 de pierres en provenance de pays qui ont souffert de l\u2019occupation nazie\u00a0; le monument r\u00e9serv\u00e9 aux femmes illustr\u00e9 par une c\u00e9ramique repr\u00e9sentant une femme tenant un enfant dans ses bras\u00a0; et finalement la partie centrale repr\u00e9sentant un prisonnier \u00ab\u00a0NN\u00a0\u00bb marqu\u00e9 de cette mani\u00e8re par les Allemands dont la signification \u00ab\u00a0Nuit et Brouillard\u00a0\u00bb indiquait la non possibilit\u00e9 pour ce prisonnier d\u2019obtenir la libert\u00e9.<\/p>
\u00a0Lors de l\u2019inauguration, il fut d\u00e9voil\u00e9 par le repr\u00e9sentant du comit\u00e9 national, Marc Malice, avant que toute personne le d\u00e9sirant vienne y d\u00e9poser des fleurs. Par la suite, Jules Demarques et Victor Berlemont all\u00e8rent d\u00e9poser au fond du s\u00e9pulcre l\u2019urne contenant les cendres d\u2019un prisonnier politique massacr\u00e9 \u00e0 Auschwitz avant que Fernand Danhier et Charles Masy aillent d\u00e9poser \u00e0 leur tour la feuille de plomb et la croix du prisonnier politique. Quant \u00e0 la derni\u00e8re dalle, elle fut pos\u00e9e par le bourgmestre de Dour, Arthur Capouillez, et du d\u00e9put\u00e9, Michel Tromont. Par la suite, de nombreux discours, en compagnie du corps communal et \u00e9chevinal, furent r\u00e9alis\u00e9s. Ceux-ci furent suivis par un vin d\u2019honneur au cours duquel le bourgmestre de Dour, Arthur Capouillez, re\u00e7ut la nomination de gardien de ce monument et le dipl\u00f4me qui l\u2019accompagnait.<\/p>
Dans ce contexte, il convient de souligner que le 11 novembre 1980 eut \u00e9galement lieu \u00e0 ce m\u00e9morial une autre comm\u00e9moration o\u00f9 des cendres d\u2019une prisonni\u00e8re de Ravensbruck, le camp de la mort des femmes, furent \u00e9galement d\u00e9pos\u00e9es au sein de l\u2019urne du monument.<\/p>
