Historique et \u00e9volution :<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>
La localit\u00e9 de Dour a connu 75 ans de trams vicinaux. En effet, le tram \u00e0 vapeur de 1896 \u00e0 1931 et le tram \u00e9lectrique de 1931 \u00e0 1970. Ainsi, les lignes \u00e9taient diverses et ont connu des \u00e9volutions au cours des ann\u00e9es. De fait, la premi\u00e8re ligne fut ouverte le 14 juillet 1896. Cette ligne prenait son d\u00e9part \u00e0 Boussu Canal. \u00c0 Dour, elle desservait la Place de Trich\u00e8res et le hameau de Petit-Dour avant de se diriger vers le centre de Blaugies o\u00f9, l\u00e0, elle passait \u00e0 travers champs pour rejoindre les communes d\u2019Athis, Erquennes et Fayt-le-Franc pour atteindre son terminus pr\u00e8s de la fronti\u00e8re fran\u00e7aise. Par la suite, le 1^{er<\/sup> juillet 1928, commenc\u00e8rent les travaux d\u2019\u00e9lectrification. Cela amena \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation de nouvelles lignes \u00e0 savoir celle de Boussu-Dour le 7 f\u00e9vrier 1931 et celle de Dour-Fronti\u00e8re le 31 octobre 1931. Au cours de la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, les premiers trams \u00e9lectriques atteignent Dour. Toutefois, il faudra attendre la p\u00e9riode 1937-1941 pour que les extensions du r\u00e9seau \u00e9lectrique soient effectu\u00e9es dans la r\u00e9gion de Boussu-Dour.<\/p>}
Malheureusement, en 1970, les trams sont de moins en moins employ\u00e9s jusqu\u2019\u00e0 leur compl\u00e8te inutilisation. Par ailleurs, il est \u00e0 noter que l\u2019Association pour la Sauvegarde du Vicinal avait envisag\u00e9 de conserver la section Dour-Erquennes afin d\u2019y \u00e9tablir une ligne touristique. Toutefois, ce projet n\u2019a jamais vu le jour en raison de la non reconnaissance officielle de cette Association et le d\u00e9but du d\u00e9montage de la ligne afin de faire place \u00e0 la \u00ab\u00a0Route Verte\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>
