Historique et \u00e9volution :<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>
La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Boulangerie, coop\u00e9rative ouvri\u00e8re d\u2019Elouges\u00a0\u00bb qui s\u2019appellera plus tard \u00ab\u00a0Union, ordre, \u00e9conomie\u00a0\u00bb, fut cr\u00e9\u00e9e en 1887 par des ouvriers houilleurs \u00e0 la rue du Peuple \u00e0 Elouges, actuellement nomm\u00e9e rue du stade. Elle prit pour mod\u00e8le les statuts de la coop\u00e9rative de Wasmes. Apr\u00e8s une progression lente, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une gr\u00e8ve importante qui eut lieu dans la r\u00e9gion, en 1894, pendant laquelle la coop\u00e9rative avait fourni du pain \u00e0 cr\u00e9dit aux gr\u00e9vistes, elle vit augmenter consid\u00e9rablement le nombre de ses membres.<\/p>
Par la suite, elle ajouta \u00e0 ses activit\u00e9s une maison du peuple, un magasin d\u2019\u00e9piceries et de tissus et une boucherie. Pour r\u00e9duire les prix du pain, la coop\u00e9rative ne livrait pas de pain \u00e0 domicile aux habitants de la localit\u00e9. Toutefois, elle le faisait dans les communes de Montignies-sur-Roc et d\u2019Audregnies.<\/p>
En 1924, la coop\u00e9rative ouvrit une succursale dans une ancienne abbaye d\u2019Audregnies. Elle ne r\u00e9alisa jamais de fusion et resta autonome. Encore aujourd\u2019hui, une boulangerie et un caf\u00e9 font partie de cette coop\u00e9rative.<\/p>
