Historique et \u00e9volution :<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>
Situ\u00e9e \u00e0 la Grand-Rue \u00e0 Dour dans l\u2019ancien pensionnat de l\u2019instituteur Henquinez et fond\u00e9e en 1835 par Fran\u00e7ois Decrucq, cette \u00e9cole est adopt\u00e9e par la Commune en 1844 comme la premi\u00e8re \u00e9cole communale de Dour. Une \u00e9cole du soir r\u00e9serv\u00e9e aux adultes y est adjointe par la suite si bien qu\u2019en 1848, cette derni\u00e8re est reconnue comme une institution communale.<\/p>
Ainsi, Fran\u00e7ois Decrucq est nomm\u00e9 premier instituteur communal de cette \u00e9cole en 1849. En 1850, il devint \u00e9galement receveur du bureau de bienfaisance. En 1861, l\u2019\u00e9cole compte +\/- 130 \u00e9l\u00e8ves.<\/p>
Elle sera, par la suite, d\u00e9plac\u00e9e dans un b\u00e2timent communal \u00e0 l\u2019ancienne rue du Petit-Hainin appel\u00e9e actuellement rue Decrucq, o\u00f9 en 1863, Philippe Fran\u00e7ois Decrucq sera nomm\u00e9 professeur \u00e0 la place de son p\u00e8re avant que sa s\u0153ur, Irma Decrucq, soit nomm\u00e9e \u00e9galement comme premi\u00e8re institutrice communale en 1865. En effet, en 1866-1867, d\u00e9bute la construction de l\u2019\u00e9cole du Centre. Ces b\u00e2timents propri\u00e9t\u00e9s de l\u2019administration communale sont scind\u00e9s en deux avec d\u2019un c\u00f4t\u00e9 une \u00e9cole pour les filles et de l\u2019autre une \u00e0 destination des gar\u00e7ons. Ainsi, en 1867, Philippe Fran\u00e7ois Decrucq est nomm\u00e9 instituteur pour les gar\u00e7ons et sa s\u0153ur, Irma, institutrice pour l\u2019\u00e9cole des filles.\u00a0<\/p>
Par ailleurs, il convient d\u2019indiquer qu\u2019en 1879, les demoiselles Callory deviennent institutrices et sous-institutrices gardiennes de cette \u00e9cole.<\/p>
En 1907, trois classes et un pr\u00e9au viennent compl\u00e9ter l\u2019ensemble. Par la suite, cette \u00e9cole comprit six classes d\u2019enseignement primaire.<\/p>
