Historique et \u00e9volution :<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>
En 1902, Adolphe Cantineau et une quarantaine d\u2019ouvriers mineurs fond\u00e8rent une boulangerie coop\u00e9rative, \u00ab\u00a0La Ruche Boraine\u00a0\u00bb, qui prit pour devise \u00ab\u00a0Travail et Progr\u00e8s\u00a0\u00bb. Par ailleurs, il \u00e9tait \u00e0 noter que l\u2019id\u00e9e aussi \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation de cette coop\u00e9rative \u00e9tait que Wih\u00e9ries puisse disposer de sa propre maison du peuple comme les autres localit\u00e9s.<\/p>
\u00c0 sa cr\u00e9ation, la coop\u00e9rative louait un local \u00e0 la rue du Quesnoy qui devint trop exigu lorsque le Cercle de la Libre Pens\u00e9e et le syndicat d\u00e9cid\u00e8rent d\u2019y tenir leurs r\u00e9unions. En janvier 1903, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 coop\u00e9rative d\u00e9cida de construire une salle en bois. Celle-ci, situ\u00e9e dans le jardin de la maison que louait la coop\u00e9rative et surnomm\u00e9e \u00ab\u00a0La Bo\u00eete \u00e0 Cigares\u00a0\u00bb fut inaugur\u00e9e en avril 1903. Au cours de l\u2019ann\u00e9e 1904, \u00ab\u00a0La Bo\u00eete \u00e0 Cigares\u00a0\u00bb devenue trop petite, la coop\u00e9rative d\u00e9cida de changer d\u2019endroit et de cr\u00e9er sa propre maison du peuple. Ainsi, elle \u00e9tait situ\u00e9e sur la Place du Jeu de Balle de Wih\u00e9ries.<\/p>
Ainsi, cette soci\u00e9t\u00e9 coop\u00e9rative fut longtemps prosp\u00e8re. En raison de cette prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 \u00e9conomique, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 refusa d\u2019entrer dans la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 coop\u00e9rative r\u00e9gionale \u00ab\u00a0L\u2019Union des Coop\u00e9rateurs Borains\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>
