Historique et \u00e9volution :<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>
Construite vers 1895 et situ\u00e9e \u00e0 la rue du Stade \u00e0 Elouges, la maison du peuple d\u2019Elouges appartenait \u00e0 l\u2019origine \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 coop\u00e9rative \u00ab\u00a0Union, ordre, \u00e9conomie\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>
D\u2019un point de vue architectural, le b\u00e2timent est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par un plan \u00e9tir\u00e9 \u00e0 front de rue. De style classique, le tout se d\u00e9veloppe sur deux niveaux avec un corps central de trois trav\u00e9es.<\/p>
La maison du peuple, qui en est toujours une actuellement, \u00e9tait occup\u00e9e par un d\u00e9bit de pains et un bureau dans les trav\u00e9es de gauche, ainsi que par une \u00e9picerie et une boucherie dans les trav\u00e9es de droite. Quant \u00e0 la partie centrale, elle \u00e9tait occup\u00e9e par la maison du peuple elle-m\u00eame. \u00c0 gauche de celle-ci, un porche donnait acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la boulangerie, aux \u00e9curies et \u00e0 la salle des f\u00eates. \u00c0 cela s\u2019ajoutent une biblioth\u00e8que, une salle des f\u00eates et de cin\u00e9ma et les activit\u00e9s d\u2019une chorale, \u00ab\u00a0Les Enfants du Peuple\u00a0\u00bb. Ainsi, c\u2019est dans cette maison du peuple que l\u2019on retrouvait notamment, d\u2019une part, un cercle de gymnastique et un club de judo, et d\u2019autre part, un club de football. On y retrouvait \u00e9galement une biblioth\u00e8que, \u00e0 destination du peuple, fond\u00e9e apr\u00e8s la Premi\u00e8re Guerre mondiale et qui resta en activit\u00e9 un peu plus d\u2019un demi-si\u00e8cle.<\/p>
Par ailleurs, il convient d\u2019indiquer que d\u2019autres activit\u00e9s y \u00e9taient aussi organis\u00e9es tels que le billard, le tir \u00e0 l\u2019arc, mais aussi certaines actions mises en place \u00e0 l\u2019initiative de certaines soci\u00e9t\u00e9s telles que celle des tyroliens et des majorettes ou encore les conf\u00e9rences et les d\u00e9bats du cercle horticole.<\/p>
En 1964, la maison du peuple accueille \u00e9galement le Fonds Fosty dont le but est de r\u00e9aliser, quatre fois par an, une collecte de sang en faveur de la clinique de Baudour. \u00c0 chaque collecte, se pr\u00e9sentent entre vingt et vingt-cinq donneurs b\u00e9n\u00e9voles.<\/p>
Ainsi, actuellement, ayant gard\u00e9 son affectation d\u2019origine, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 class\u00e9e le 21 d\u00e9cembre 1983.<\/p>
